I really love singing, like many people do. Though honestly speaking, I don’t really
possess a very beautiful singing voice, ^_^ but I still love singing. So, I joined a choir group where I went
training to enhance my voice and to learn some pointers on how to sing
properly. And I am very happy for
that.
Singing is not just a hobby; it has a lot of benefits physically and
emotionally. Actually, I have
asthma. But I can say that singing
helped me to strengthen my lungs and my whole body by doing some breathing
exercises which I learned from being a choir member.
Singing really relieves me when I am down. Especially, when I am singing inspirational
songs and praise songs. These type of
songs encourage me to make it through. Singing
spiritual songs uplifts my spirit, and not only to me but also the listeners, because
singing is another way to express one’s feelings and one way to convey messages
to the listeners. There’s a verse in the Bible that tells this -
“Let the word of Christ dwell in
you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and
hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” COLOSSIANS 3:16.
So, we could also teach and admonish one another through
singing, especially through spiritual songs.
People like to sing different music genres. But I think majority of those people,
nowadays, do not prefer this type of music.
You should try to sing spiritual songs too. Based on my experience, it really helps me a
lot in different ways, and I’m sure you will do too.. ^_^
